Default Question about W/Mos and monk skills

I was wondering, if you are going W/mo, which monk skills are worth a precious skill slot as you are a non-caster class. While I play mostly PvE, I think this is a valid question for pvp as well.

Some like rebirth (for pve), remove hex, and mending... touch seem like good choices. Some like Strength of Honor can be used conditionally, ie when the other guy's AL vs elements is 90+ and you are going to put 10 points into either conjure element or SoH, SoH is the better choice. Others like Light of Dwayna might be arguable as an okay skill in general, but probably shouldn't be on a warrior's bar.

Note I'm generally assuming that the person won't be raising their monk skills above 8-10 and will have no more than 1 or 2 monk skills.

Mending Touch is the only real option. I guess you could use Purge Sig on a purely adrenal build.

Let's see...

Holy Veil, Mending Touch, hard Res, Purge Signet, Succor...

Ummm... Yeah.

That all depends on what chapters you own for core mend ailment then there is purge conditions.I wouldn't use purge signet as it will drain all your energy if you happen to need it other skills could include holy veil or remove hex as well as a hard res rebirth. That is all you need to be thinking about unless it is for farming. That is for the farming forum.

[skill]Mending[/skill][skill]Healing Breeze[/skill][skill]Healing Hands[/skill][skill]Orison of Healing[/skill][skill]Heal Area[/skill] are the ones worth taking. Anyone who says otherwise is a retard.

/endsarcasm

Anyway, yea [skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill] are really the staple ones most commonly seen.
Yes [skill]Succor[/skill] has been used but it's not really that effective because, as much adrenaline as you may use, you still need energy for Frenzy and Bull's Strike and on one pip and -1 energy every time your Monk casts a spell, you will never get enough to use anything.

One thing I will never get is why people use /Mo on a Warrior for har drez....
If you're using a hard rez then go /Rt for [skill]Flesh of my Flesh[/skill] since it's the best mid-combat rez for a Warrior. [skill]Resurrection Chant[/skill] requires half range and since you are on the frontlines you don't want to have to run back to rez someone.

As for [skill]Rebirth[/skill].. that skill is mainly for when you have a near-party wipe and someone runs off so they don't die and can rez you later. But you are a Warrior, you shouldn't be running off, you should be holding aggro since you can survive the longest so the rest of your party can run off. And Rebirth sucks for a combat rez.

For PvP, only option I consider bringing is Mending Touch. For PvE, Vigorous Spirit with Hundred Blades. <--No joke there, it works in PvE with all the mobs bunching up on you.

except for the part where you do no damage, because you wasted your elite slot on HB.

This made me laugh more than the actual jokes.

But seriously, [skill]Vigorous Spirit[/skill]

ok well, what i use is healing hands, healing breeze and rebirth. i know people may say it is a waste to use an elite, but it has saved me so many times, when the healer is dead and there are heaps of people attacking you it really helps, along with healing breeze it is very good for keeping you alive long enough for you or your party to rez a healer or something. purge conditions can be good if you are getting alot of conditions, but i prefer to use an extra attack skill most of the time.

No offense mate, but what you're saying couldn't be more wrong. Healing Hands and the like suck hard because using them means you can't deal damage (I mean real damage, like [skill=text]Dragon Slash[/skill] and [skill=text]Eviscerate[/skill]). If you're not dealing damage, you're not doing anything is most areas.

Warrior's have high armor for a reason - it keeps you alive. If you can hold aggro and kill stuff, you should breeze through most of PvE. This way, there's no 'I have rebirth and saved everyone because I didn't kill them quick enough situations'.

If your healer is dying all the time then either
1. Get a new healer who doesn't suck, or
2. Learn to use protection prayers instead of just healing, or
3. Stop overaggroing.

Who cares about dealing damage when your job in PvE is to be a good tank? Let the other people on the team do the damage while you soak it up.

Maybe in the DoA. Everywhere else, you're fine if your monks don't suck.

Alternatively, you can run Dragon Slash and Save Yourselves! Turn on godmode AND do real damage.

There's no point in being the last one standing. Your 100 armor is what allows you to tank, not wasting your skill slots and attribute points on situational tanking crap, self-snaring unnecessary armor buffs, and/or healing prayers. In DoA, a tank is arguably needed. Nowhere else.
